Chicken Burger

It is one of those comfort brunches which you can prepare at the drop of a hat. All you need is some chicken keema, basic veggies and bread in your stock and you're good to go. This burger also makes for a great office/school lunch. Serve with some fries if you don't mind the calories. :)

Serves: 4

Ingredients: Burger Breads: 4
Chicken keema: 200 Grams
Lettuce leaves: 1 Bunch
Tomato (cut into rings): 1
Onion (cut into rings): 1
Olives (halved): 1/2 Cup
Cheese: 4 Slices
Mayonnaise: 4 Tablespoons
Hot and sweet sauce: 4 Tablespoons
Mustard: 2 Tablespoons
Garlic Paste: 1 Tablespoon
Ginger paste: 1 Teaspoon
Lemon juice: 1
Green Chilies (chopped): 2
Coriander leaves (handful)
Salt to Taste
Pepper: 1 Teaspoon
Egg white: 1
Bread Crumbs: 1 Cup
Olive Oil: 3 Tablespoons

Method:

1. Marinate the chicken keema with ginger, garlic, lemon juice, coriander leaves, salt and pepper and keep in the fridge for a couple of hours. This is the most time-consuming part of this dish. After this, everything happens super fast.

2. Once marinated well, make medium sized balls of the keema, flatten it out in the shape of a patty, dip in the egg white, roll in bread crumbs and shallow fry till crisp and golden.

3. Meanwhile, slice the burger buns from the middle and soften them in the microwave for 20 seconds.

4. Spread mustard (Dijon, English or even kasundi), hot and sweet sauce and the mayo on each side.

5. Place a lettuce leaf on 1 side, put two rings of tomato and onion each and a sprinkling of halved olives. I you so wish, add a pinch of salt on the vegetables.

6. Balance a cheese slice on the veggies, place the burger patty on top of it, sandwich it with the second half of the burger bun and take a big bite for a feel of heaven!

  2. Hi,

Thanks a lot! You can substitute the chicken with soya mince, or even potatoes with work brilliantly.
