Chickpea, Potato and Tomato Salad

Last October right after Durga Puja I had vowed to lose 9 kilos, some of which I had gained in the preceding month's Eat Like a Bong extravaganza. Obviously the Puja excesses added to the catastrophe and very soon I found that my face had taken the shape of a pumpkin and my clothes were screaming for help. High time, I decided. I set a target for March and accordingly started my regimen. The first 4 kilos were dispensed with in no time. So by the third week of November, when I was 4 kilos lighter, my joy knew no bounds. March is such a distant target, I told myself. I'll reach my desired weight latest by mid-January!
Yeah right! It now seems I had spoke to much too soon, because from November to the present day I have been going round and round the same circle. I lose 4 kilos, gain 2, lose 3, gain 2 more and such goes the story. I have exactly 2 weeks in hand now and still have those stubborn last 4 kilos to get rid off and with my target date nearing I have no clue how to go about the whole hog. As in of course I know, but keeping the temptation under control is so damn difficult. :(
Maybe having salads like these can help? Just maybe? Let me give it a shot.

Chickpeas, soaked overnight: 1 cup
Potatoes, cubed: 1 big
Onion, finely chopped: 1 medium
Tomato, finely chopped: 1
Green chillies, finely chopped: 2
Chaat masala: 2 tsp
Cumin powder: 1 tsp
Amchoor: 1 tsp
Rock salt, to taste
Red chilli powder: 3/4 tsp
Lime juice: of 1 lime
Coriander leaves, chopped: 1/2 cup (I didn't have it at hand)

1. In a big bowl, tip in all the ingredients (reserve a little bit of coriander) and mix well. Taste for seasoning and adjust spices accordingly.

2. Garnish with some chopped coriander and serve.
