Narkel Kishmish diye Chholar Dal (Chana Dal with Coconut and Raisins)

    Hi, I love the Bong chholar dal, but this does not look like the ones I have had at my Bong friends' places. They make it more runny. Isn't that how it is supposed to be?

    1. Hi, the consistency of any dal always depends on how you like it. My mother makes the same Chholar Dal much runnier, but I like my dal to be thick, hence I generally add less water, and dry it out more later on. Also, if you're having this with luchi/paratha, this consistency suits better. With rice or pulao, the runnier version might do the trick. :)
